THE BEST NEW SMART PHONE FOR YOU TO CONSIDER
Without a doubt the Samsung Galaxy S Nexus is the latest big thing to hit the mobile phone market. This is possibly the first phone that has a shot at making anyone not want an iPhone. Everything about the exterior of the Nexus feels high-end and well-designed. The Nexus comes with Google’s latest version of the Android operating system, called Ice Cream Sandwich.
The phone is slim and sleek with a slight cheek-hugging curve and the rounded edges that are a characteristic of the Nexus line. The 8.49 mm thickness of the Galaxy houses some pretty impressive hardware in a 1.Didn’t catch that? This explains it.2 gigahertz dual core processor and a 5mp front-facing camera. The 5mp camera is a little below par and is the only flaw that the phone appears to have. The screen measures 4.65 inches, by the way, noticeably larger than the iPhone’s 3.5 inches. The device has no buttons on the front other than those that appear on the touch screen. The picture that the Galaxy Nexus displays is high definition and crystal clear at 320 dpi, it even has the ability to record video in 1080p.
The addition of Ice Cream Sandwich should not be overlooked here as it comes with some truly astonishing new features, among them Face Unlock, which allows the phone to visually identify its owner and unlock the touch screen. Another impressive feature is the ability to translate speech to text. The voice to text software is called Siri and it works in real time. It also comes with decent photo editing software to back up the device’s decent-but-slightly-lacking camera. The photo editing allows for red-eye removal, cropping and tagging. The Galaxy Nexus will run a version of Android that is clean and unchanged, this means that there will no additions to the interface from Samsung or from the phone carriers. The phones will be able to exchange data wirelessly, too, using a technology referred to as Android Beam.
